Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. Therese arbeitete in Kunst- und Kulturprojekten im In- und Ausland (u.a. für Rwandan Records im Haus der Kulturen der Welt (2019), der Vierten Welt (seit 2019), für die neue Gesellschaft für bildende Künste (nGbK) im Projekt 77#13 - Politische Kunst im Widerstand in der Türkei, Documentarist - Documentary Days in Istanbul). Ihr erster Kino-Dokumentarfilm Im Stillen laut (2019, 74’) ist ihr Master-Abschlussfilm. Er feierte im Deutschen Wettbewerb der 62. Internationales Leipziger Festival für Dokumentar- und Animationsfilm seine Weltpremiere und erhielt eine lobende Erwähnung des VER.DI Preis für Menschlichkeit, Solidarität und Fairness. Bei der 43. Duisburger Filmwoche gewann Im Stillen laut den Publikumspreis der Rheinischen Post.Für die Entwicklung ihres Debütfilms Haunting Heimat (AT), ein Porträt zweier namibischer Frauen und ihrer Perspektive auf das Erbe deutscher Kolonialherrschaft, erhielt sie 2019 die Grenzgänger Rechercheförderung des Literarischen Colloquiums Berlin und der Robert Bosch Stiftung. Neben ihrer Arbeit als Regisseurin unterrichtet Therese als Dozentin Dokumentarfilm Theorie und Praxis, zuletzt an der London Southbank University (2018-2019).
